The site is a best-in-class facility with state-of-the-art technology which operates safely, effectively and efficiently, delivering high-quality fruit consistently, every day.

Teams of category experts manage the complete end-to-end supply chain process.  Working closely with their global network of growers to import bananas, berries, grapes and citrus fruits, as well as stone fruit, melons and just about every exotic fruit you can think of.  There is also a network of brilliant British growers for the fruits that can tolerate the good old British weather!

The vast pack-house is split into category areas, with large-scale chilled storage zones and ripening chambers.  Many traditionally routine tasks have been automated, and a number of methods have been introduced to improve grading and packing.

As a business, ESG is very much a priority for Primafruit.  As the communities are truly global, the teams work with Waitrose & Partners on projects such as agronomy innovations to social-based initiatives through the Waitrose & Partners Foundation and Fairtrade, benefiting the workers in the areas where the fruit is grown.
