Our People

All across Fresca, our colleagues are at the heart of everything we do and are the driving force behind our successes.

Our diverse and dedicated teams are a testament to our overall commitment to excellence, and we have a genuine culture of continuous improvement.

Our mission every day is to be the First Choice Produce Partner, and this naturally extends to our people.

We believe that great minds think differently – and we welcome the fact that every colleague will have their own unique set of skills, experiences and perspectives. By embracing what makes us all different, we will continue to evolve – as an employer, a supplier, a customer and as a member of all our communities.

Part of Something Bigger

Colleagues across the whole of Fresca really are a part of something bigger, from their very first day. As a group, Fresca is one of the largest privately owned fresh produce businesses in the UK, and everyone benefits from our group resources.  Through our network of companies, we facilitate the ability to share knowledge, expertise, skills, best practice and innovation.

Grow With Fresca

We cultivate an environment that fosters growth, learning and development of our colleagues. Grow With Fresca is our platform development programmes, through which we nurture our colleagues and help them be the best versions of themselves in the workplace. The overall aim is to shape the succession plan of tomorrow by recruiting and then retaining colleagues with a passion for excellence, performance, sustainability and developing others.

Graduate Development Programme

This 2-year rotational programme provides opportunities for graduates to work across a number of different areas, gaining multi-disciplinary experience before choosing to specialise in a particular function by the end of the second year. Spending time within selected departments, such as global sourcing and procurement, supply chain and logistics, commercial sales and marketing, operational, technical and product development, and Finance, HR, IT and communications. It is the perfect foundation for starting a career in the exciting fresh produce sector. This programme includes a formal Institute of Leadership & Management qualification (ILM5).

Future Leaders Development Programme

In order to ensure our leaders of tomorrow will be equipped to take the next steps in their careers with us, in partnership with Point Two-Five, we provide a comprehensive 12-month leadership development programme. Consisting of 12 modules, our colleagues will enhance their skills in coaching & mentoring, leading change, building a high performing team, ED&I amongst others, whilst also receiving personal coaching themselves.

Management Development Programme

We recognise the validity of the adage ‘what got you here, won’t get you there’. To that end, we make sure we support our frontline managers with the appropriate skills as they progress with us. Our MDP is underpinned by the level 3 apprenticeship and the ILM level 3 diploma in Team Leading and is delivered via our partner, Azesta. Some of the key skills our colleagues will learn include understanding team dynamics and building cohesive teams, operational management, understanding financial governance and compliance amongst others.

Employee-Owned Business Model

What makes us different is that all colleagues within our wholly owned businesses have the opportunity to invest into our employee share ownership programme, and to be part of the future growth and success of the company.

We are proud to say 45% of Fresca is currently owned by our own people.
