Britain’s leading glasshouse complex sits proudly within the landscape of East Kent. These enormous glasshouses produce around 400 million tomatoes, 30 million cucumbers and 24 million peppers each year.

Thanet Earth continues to lead the UK protected salads industry, winning awards for sustainability and innovation.

Thanet Earth manages year-round programmes for UK retail customers, offering premium quality salad produce throughout the year.

Combining extensive knowledge and international expertise, innovation, cutting-edge technology and some of the best growing conditions in the UK, the site produces unrivalled taste on a commercial scale.

Three of the six existing glasshouses (23 hectares combined, or slightly more than 32 football pitches) are dedicated to growing premium varieties of tomato, usually sold on the vine – around 400 million each year.  Each glasshouse having a different mix of varieties inside.

We have two glasshouses (12.5 hectares combined, or 17 football pitches) that are home to around 30 million cucumbers each year.  And our remaining glasshouse (9 hectares, or 12 football pitches) house our 24 million speciality peppers.
