The impressive chandeliers in the Great Ballroom of the Grosvenor House Hotel sparkled brightly once again, illuminating this year’s Fresh Produce Consortium Awards ceremony.
The Oscars of the fresh produce world always attracts big numbers, with dozens of businesses hoping to bag one of the illustrious awards.
This year not only were Fresca sponsors of the Rising Star Award, but both Primafruit and Thanet Earth were shortlisted for a multitude of accolades.
Primafruit Wins Supermarket Fruit & Veg Supplier of the Year Award
Of the winner of this prestigious award, the FPC said:

The Judges’ comments read:

Thanet Earth Nets Brand New Award for 2025 – Net Zero Impact Award
Commenting about the winners of this brand-new award for 2025, the FPC said:
“An example to us all, Thanet Earth is taking a forward-thinking and practical approach to achieving net zero, resulting in measurable progress towards decarbonisation for both the fresh produce industry and the environment at large.
Its openness to industry collaboration and knowledge sharing has seen Thanet Earth share best practices that can drive wider industry change.
Through bold investment and a clear vision for a low-carbon future, the organisation is demonstrating how sustainable innovation can be scaled commercially.
Already, Thanet Earth is delivering tangible carbon reductions by adopting renewable energy like solar, switching to low-carbon HVO fuel, upgrading energy efficiency via LED lighting and energy screens, and achieving Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) ahead of schedule.
The Judges’ Comments read:
“Thanet Earth presents a long-term model for net zero success in UK agriculture. What makes this organisation stand out is a genuine dedication to continuous improvement at a commercial scale, together with an openness to sharing best practices. A praiseworthy commitment towards helping the product industry to develop a resilient food system.”
